Mountable virtually anywhere, D-Link cameras provide a great, affordable way to keep an eye on your home, family and pets. When choosing the placement for your camera it’s nice to know that no matter where it’s placed, a shelf, wall or ceiling you’ll have easy access to viewing capabilities. Depending on what camera you are using and where it’s being placed you may need to invert the camera video feed to make sure when you view the live feed on mydlink everything is right side up. If you’re mounting one of D-Link’s fixed based cameras, like the Pan & Tilt Day/Night Wi-Fi Camera (DCS-5010L), on the ceiling it just takes a few simple steps to flip the image. Start by opening your web browser and entering the IP Address of your camera. Log in using the User Name and Password you first chose when setting up the camera. From there follow these instructions:
- Once in advanced settings click the settings tab towards the top of the page. Under settings is where you can manage motion and sound detection, SD recording, brightness and email settings to name a few.
- On the left hand side click on Image Setup,
- Under Image Setup you can choose Flip Image, which will vertically flip the video, and Mirror, to horizontally flip the video. If the camera is installed upside down you will want to select Flip Image and Mirror in order to have the image displayed normally on mydlink.
- Hit save settings and you’re done!
