Amazon and Google invading the Xbox One
It appears as though Microsoft will begin playing nice with other virtual assistants by letting Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant into the Xbox One, joining Microsoft’s Cortana in the quest to become the catch-all entertainment center in the living room.
This is one of the most significant moves in 3rd-party inter-compatibility as it is unusual for a company with a competing service to open up their platform to others. This could signal a shift in strategy for Microsoft as it recognized its assistant limitations in an effort to increase popularity of its hardware.
