Amazon has officially announced that it’s 3rd annual Prime Day will be July 11th and in order to help make sure we’re all overly prepared for this stressful and majestic day of sales we’ve complied some tips to help.
1. Get Prime
First and foremost to take part in Amazon Prime Day you need to be a prime member, if you’re not and you want some deals, steals and discounts now’s the time to join. A Prime membership generally costs $99 a year and includes free 2-Day shipping, access to the Prime Video library of TV shows and movies and Prime Music – and that’s just a few of the perks.
2. Know What You’re Looking For
The Prime Day setup can be a bit hectic, products are usually only on sale for a certain segment of time (usually just a few hours) and will most likely have a limited amount of product. A lot of deals will be announced before the day but you may not know when the deal will actually be live. To help boost your chances of getting a product you really want, make sure you enable deal notifications on the Amazon app, then find the deal you’re interested in and add it to your watchlist. You’ll then receive a push notification when the deal is about to start.
3. Double Check Your Deal
Amazon can generally be trusted to always have the best deal on a product but to double check you’re really getting a great deal look up the product on CamelCamelCamel, the Amazon price tracker. With Camel³ you can see the price history of any product to make sure the Prime Day deal is as good as you can get.
4. Be a Step Ahead
Don’t just look for deals on the day of, Amazon does tons of deals in the week leading up to and after Prime Day. So if you’re really on the hunt for stuff start looking early.
5. Be as Swift as the Coursing River
There is no dilly-dallying on Prime Day! Once a product has been added to your cart you only have 15 minutes to complete your purchase before it’s removed. Don’t waste too much time checking out other products, if needed make multiple, separate transactions to guarantee you don’t lose the deal.
P.S. Don’t forget to take a quick break from shopping to run out and get your free 7/11 Slurpee!
